Synopsis

Young Australian Rob Fraser has always known that his life would be somewhat condensed. His serious lung disease – cystic fibrosis – doesn’t offer any alternatives. Rob counts his age in “dog” years. Although, at first glance, he seems a healthy person, at the age of 33 his actual physical condition is that of someone three times his age. He speaks openly about the end of his life, without a trace of sentiment. Using Rob’s own commentary, director Charlotte Roseby uses stylised images to present the reality of his life: his illness and vexation, but also his hopes and joys.

About the director

Charlotte Roseby works as an independent journalist and editor. She was also employed in radio sound production. Still Breathing is the first film by this director, who states that she is not so interested in observing and filming events as “capturing the journey within”.
