Synopsis

Actor and screenwriter Noel Clarke’s feature debut, Adulthood, is a loose continuation of 2006’s Kidulthood. Clarke scripted both movies and he plays the lead in both as well. Protagonist Sam Peel has just been released from prison where he did six years for killing someone. His West London home is still rife with thugs, drugs, and gangs, and there are many, remembering what he did, who have sworn revenge. To make matters worse, Sam’s younger brother is repeating his mistakes. Driven by the rhythms of rap, this exciting movie plays out over the course of 24 hours, and offers an authentic portrait of Sam’s dogged journey to find forgiveness for his crime and to start over. This is his pilgrimage from adolescence to adulthood.
