Synopsis
Once a ghetto and today a workers quarter, director Štingl investigates Baluty with the help of Czech Jews, unique archive footage, and today’s inhabitants, who are plagued by poverty, alcoholism, and unemployment. The story of thousands of individuals who left their mark on the Łódź neighborhood and whose lives were in turn marked by the cruelties of history.
