East of the West - Works in Progress 2007
23 films in post-production were presented at the East of the West - Work in Progress 2007 (1 from Bulgaria, 6 from Czech Republic, 1 from Hungary, 2 from Latvia, 1 from Lithuania, 5 from Poland, 2 from Romania, 3 from Slovak Republic, 2 from Slovenia) to the international buyers, festival programmers and distributors. Out of that 12 recently completed films had a Special Industry screening out of the official festival program.
Docu Talents from the East 2007
Docu Talents from the East is a guide to creative documentaries from Bulgaria all the way up to Estonia. It presents them in their production phase to festival organizers, distributors, buyers and journalist. Directors and producers of 8 selected projects presented their film in a seven-minute pitch, which included trailers. The event is organized in collaboration with the Institute of Documentary Film and Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival.
EUROPEAN FILM ACADEMY MEETING
A meeting of the members of the European Film Academy was held on July 7 at the Grandhotel Pupp. It was attended by: Ana María Arreita Blanco (Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas), Pavel Strnad (Asociace producentů v audiovizi), Eva Zaoralová, Ivo Mathé and Petr Vachler (Česká filmová a televizní akademie), Guillaume Gaubert (Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma Les César), Kim Magnusson (Danish Film Academy), Christiane Teichgräber (Deutsche Filmakademie e.V.), Manuela Pineskj (Ente David di Donatello), Marion Döring, Nikola Joetze a Stefanie Röders (European Film Academy), Björn Björnsson (Icelandic Film and Television Academy), Deidre Hopkins a Aine Moriarty (Irish Film and Television
Awards), Ilana Sharon (Israeli Academy of Motion Pictures), Dariusz Jablonski and Violetta Kaminska (Polish Film Academy), Kirill E. Razlogov (Russian Film Academy), Zuzana Gindl- Tatárová (Slovak Film and Television Academy).
A meeting of the European Producers Club (Club des Producteurs Européens) was also held within the framework of the festival.
