    Alejandro Chomski has returned to KVIFF after seven years with his latest film Asleep in the Sun, which is being shown in the festival’s Another View section. In an interview, the director answers questions on his friendship with the late magic realist novelist Adolfo Bioy Casares, and how the film has met contrasting reactions in the United States and India.

    Asleep in the Sun is being screened at Čas at 18.30 on Friday 8.7.

In an interview, the director spoke about the real-life event that sparked the movie, and what the future holds for Greek filmmakers given his country’s financial meltdown.

In an interview, the film’s star Remo Girone discusses playing a dodgy magnate who gets way out of his depth, and reaction to the film in Italy.

    Samuel Fuller was remembered on American Independence Day, at Sokolov castle. A plaque bearing the name the American filmmaker, whose work influenced Wim Wenders and Quentin Tarantino, was unveiled this morning in a ceremony attended by Marek Eben, artistic director of Karlovy Vary IFF Karel Och and Fuller's wife Christa, daughter Samantha and granddaughter Samira.
