KV IFF cooperates with charity organizations

As is the case every year, this year’s 46th Karlovy Vary IFF provides an opportunity for nonprofit organisations to present their projects during the festival. The official nonprofit organisations for 2011 are as follows: 

Help The Children! 

Help The Children! is a long-term charity project organised jointly by Czech Television and the Civil Society Development Foundation. The chief aim of the collection is to provide direct and effective help to vulnerable and disadvantaged children up to the age of 18, throughout the Czech Republic. During the International Film Festival a radio-controlled model car race /large racetrack/ will take place on 5 July 2011 on Mlýnská kolonáda in Karlovy Vary. Fees for entering the race will be placed in the project’s collection box.

The Taťána Kuchařová Foundation – Beauty of Help

The Taťána Kuchařová Foundation – Beauty of Help was established in 2008, focusing its attention and support primarily on the elderly. The 46th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will be hosting a concert by Goran Bregović and his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra in support of projects for senior citizens. The concert will be held in the open air cinema (letní kino) on 3 July 2011 at 8pm.

Amnesty International CR

A Day with Amnesty – this is the title of the event Amnesty International is putting together for this year’s 46th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Amnesty International is marking its 50th anniversary this year and, during the KVIFF, on Thursday 7 July, starting at 11am, it will be organising a signature campaign and cultural event in support of three unjustly imprisoned people. The Amnesty day is part of Amnesty International’s worldwide campaign, supported, among others, by former president Václav Havel.

Karlovy Vary IFF cooperates with charity organizations

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, one of the most followed cultural events in the Czech Republic provides a long-term support to and cooperates with organizations active in charity activities.

KV IFF offers to organizations such as foundations and charities an opportunity to share the media attractive space and to address a large number of visitors of the festival while presenting their publicly beneficial programs and projects.

Each year, an organizational statute is awarded to one organization, e.g. „Foundation of the 45th KVIFF“.

The KV IFF supports the selected organization in the form of provision of space for presentation, advertisement and fund raising during the festival. The selected organization has an opportunity to present at the festival its focus, projects, organize fundraisers for the festival’s visitors, sell goods for the benefit of charity projects, etc.

The selected organization should cooperate with KV IFF primarily in the form of presentation through a public cultural event organized for the visitors of the festival, that may become a part of the accompanying event highlights of the festival (e.g. concert, etc.)

All activities of the organization within the KV IFF and any sponsors of the events need to be consulted with and approved by the KV IFF’s representatives.
