The Photograph

The young prostitute Sita finds an uninviting but cheap bedsit in the attic of a small photographic studio. Between two of life’s drifters – the young woman and a withdrawn aging photographer – a fragile bond begins to develop within the elusive, mysterious world of photographic images. Do they have a chance together to escape the traumas of the past and the brutality of the present?

Johan, a 50-year-old Indonesian and travelling photographer of Chinese descent, has just learned that he has cancer and only several months left to live. He tries to find a successor for his job but non of the candidates he interviews fit the bill. Until he finds the least probable one of all, by his side. A story of submission, affection and solidarity. Very good movie! Reply
