A 20-minute story about what is today a practically unknown profession. José Rivero (1906-1994) was a local legend on the Canary Islands. He was a street photographer whose speciality was to develop a photograph within one minute without using a negative, thereby influencing several generations of his followers who, like Rivero, joined the endless throngs of individuals endeavouring during the course of the history of man and his perception to halt the inexorable flow of time, at least for a moment.
Elio Quiroga (1965, Las Palmas, Gran Canaria) studied information science and shared in the development of Jaleo software, one of the most important programs in digital post-production. Via his own production company Frame+Frame Films he has made commercials, music videos and short features. Apart from five years’ experience in acting, he has also given a series of seminars on film direction and screenwriting. He made his first feature film Fotos in 1996 which brought him an award for Best Screenplay at the Sitges festival in Spain.
