The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has become the most significant annual film event in Central and Eastern Europe. Its concept takes advantage of the Czech Republic’s geopolitical location at the crossroads of East and West, and the festival presents over 200 new films from all over the world each year. Although the festival is particularly celebrated for young audiences that help create an exceptionally laidback atmosphere, one of the organizers’ main goals is to promote world cinema and encourage the international exchange of film.

The Film Industry Office is designed to help film industry professionals enjoy an effective stay by enabling them to become acquainted with new films and promising filmmakers, to meet new colleagues and gather new contacts in a relaxed environment.

Accredited buyers, distributors, film festival and film institution representatives, investors, producers, sales agents, and representatives of service companies may take advantage of various services and opportunities for self-promotion at the festival. They may also take part in many industry events (most of them focusing on the new production in Central and Eastern Europe).
