Synopsis

Deniz is twenty-one. She lives in Berlin and works dubbing films. Her dream is to become a real actress and not only continually lend her voice to another’s face. She is demanding of herself and of those around her, and has big plans which she longs to fulfil. Her relationship with her boyfriend Jan is quite unsatisfying. It’s a summer morn and Deniz knows that today she must make a serious decision. After work, where she is helping to dub Rohmer’s Summer, Deniz has arranged to meet Jan. They meet at a café and then go for a walk. Deniz tells Jan that it’s over. She then meets various people: in the under-ground she sees Diego and also has a short love affair, knowing that the next day it will have vanished without leaving the slightest trace of meaning. Just an ordinary day in her life. . . . A new day begins and Deniz again sets out to look for what she hasn’t yet been able to find. . . .
