Synopsis

Two exquisite lead performances and a story that is both thrilling and unpredictable make "Hold My Heart" a surprisingly watchable drama about the strained relationship between a father and his young daughter. Harald (Jorgen Langhelle) is divorced from his wife, Cecilie (Andrea Braein Hovig), after a break-up involving accusations of battery and child molesting. Forbidden to see his seven-year-old daughter, Lisa (Vera Rudi), Harald kidnaps her in a fit of rage and, over the next few days, the two grow closer again. Only a policewoman (Ingjerd Egeberg) believes he´s not a dangerous and violent man. Langhelle manages to make his character so ambivalent that for a long time the audience is unsure of his guilt, and the young Rudi manages to hold her own against the adult actors. Gunnar Rehlin
