Synopsis

Christine Blanc is a young unemployed woman who feels excluded from the ability others have of juggling daily life, emotions and conflicts. Patricia from the employment agency tries to be kind to Christine but is unable to live up to her expectations. Then, Christine commits a crime. And gets a job. A metamorphosis begins to occur in Christine as she opens herself up to the world’s normality. Meanwhile, the police investigation into the crime has difficulty determining Christine’s guilt, now that she is “one of us”... A strong and uneasy psychological drama which depicts a modern world full of tension and anxiety, where those who are more fragile, more insecure than others are condemned to lose.

About the director

Siegrid Alnoy lives and works in Paris. A classical dancer, she studied mathematics, literature and film. She has made four short films: Quand mon doigt, par mégarde (1993), Le contre ciel (1996), Nos enfants (1999), Notre amnésie (2000). She’s One of Us is her first feature film.
