Synopsis

The year has begun at the medical school of a prestigious university. But Barbara has other things on her mind than her studies: her main problem is how to coordinate her school schedule with mass murder. As a perfect fashion victim, she conceals her rage under multiple layers of makeup. She is unwilling to admit that she will never make it onto the cover of Cosmo, thereby becoming an example of how the magazine’s cult lifestyles manipulate women’s minds. The only way for Barbara to vent her frustrations is to take on the role of the cannibalistic psychopath. But just as pleasant, if not more so, is the possibility of confiding in the audience. She seeks out the camera and makes it her libidinous accomplice. And while "the safest university in the world,” as the dean calls it, is transformed into a slaughterhouse, no one would ever suspect quiet lamb Barbara, whose only obsession seems to be the latest fashion excess. And so she answers her own query: "Why do I kill? Why not? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure....” A brilliant caricature of the gore genre and a satire on the dictate to consume.
