Synopsis

This documentary about jazzman and film composer Krzysztof Komeda (Rosemary’s Baby) examines attitudes in an era of post-war political and cultural transformation, and also the work and exodus of Polish artists. The film gives voice to Komeda’s friends and colleagues, including directors Roman Polanski, Jerzy Skolimowski and Andrzej Wajda.

About the director

Claudia Buthenhoff-Duffy (b. 1959, Stuttgart) studied jewellery design, linguistics, philosophy and psychology. She was involved in work for the disabled for twenty years and she also had a career as a journalist. Her media campaign in the USA helped overturn the death penalty for Afro-American journalist and activist Mumia Abu-Jamal. She has worked in film as a screenwriter, producer and director since 2001. She lives and works in Berlin.
