Film Industry Office at 48th Karlovy Vary IFF 2013
In search of new films and new talent...
The Karlovy Vary IFF is ranked by FIAPF among the most prestigious world film festivals, and is considered the most important film event in Central and Eastern Europe. The Festival’s main goal is to promote world cinema and to encourage the international exchange of film. Annually, the Karlovy Vary IFF premieres approximately 180 new, carefully selected movies from all over the world, including up to 70 films presented as world, international, or European premieres. Many of the films are seeking an international sales agent.
The mission of the Karlovy Vary IFF’s Film Industry Office is to facilitate networking among world film industry professionals attending the festival and to support producers and filmmakers presenting new films at the festival by connecting them with buyers, distributors, and festival programmers.
Industry events at the Karlovy Vary IFF
Various Industry panels and workshops, get-togethers, informal accompanying events, and one-on-one meetings are organized during the festival to enable film industry professionals to become acquainted with new movies and promising moviemakers and to meet and make new contacts.
Industry Days – bringing together world industry professionals
The Industry days program takes inspiration from the Czech Republic’s history and its geopolitical location at the crossroads between Eastern and Western Europe. It presents upcoming films and talented filmmakers from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet bloc to international sales agents, distributors, coproducers, festival programmers, financial backers, and postproduction service companies from around the world. The ninth Industry Days will take place from June 30 to July 3, 2013.
