Works in Progress
The Works in Progress will bring you up to speed on the newest productions from Central and Eastern Europe, including features and documentaries in production or post-production that will premiere only after the Karlovy Vary IFF.
The Works in Progress is packed with special events and will offer buyers, distributors, festival programmers, producers, and investors a close look at current film projects and a great networking opportunity.

A one-day presentation designed for international distributors, sales agents, and festival programmers offering a selection of quality feature films, recently completed or in post-production, whose premieres are expected after July 2010. Producers will present their films in eight-minute pitch including the trailer or film clips.
Docu Talents from the East

Docu Talents from the East is a guide to creative documentaries from Bulgaria all the way up to Estonia. It presents them in their production phase to festival organizers, distributors, buyers and journalist. Directors and producers of nine selected projects will present their film in a seven-minute pitch, which will include trailers. The event is organized in collaboration with the Institute of Documentary Film and Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival.

Accompanying Industry events
It is a Karlovy Vary IFF tradition to organize different kinds of informal accompanying events designed to encourage new contacts in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Services
Before and during the Works in Progress, all participants will be provided with all information and materials on the films presented. They can also take advantage of all Film Industry Office services, including assistance with accommodations.
Presenting your film at the Works in Progress
The Karlovy Vary IFF is attended by top buyers, distributors, and festival programmers searching for new films from the region. The Works in Progress is the only one of its kind and will be closely watched by film industry representatives.
Producers or distributors must register their projects or films for the Works in Progress by June 8, 2010. As the number of projects to be presented is limited, contact us as soon as possible. The decision to accept individual films will be made by the selection committee of the Karlovy Vary IFF. If your film is selected, you will receive detailed practical information about your stay at the festival and your presentation.
Works in Progress – only films with film clips, recently completed or in post-production, may be presented; the trailer must not be longer than 5 minutes and must have English subtitles; the producer will have eihght-minute pitch, including the trailer, to present each film. A completed film can be screned in the special video room in the Film Industry Office.
