Press Accreditation
Conditions for obtaining Press Accreditation:

Print journalist (newspapers, magazines)
- a submitted online application for accreditation
- an official accreditation request signed by your editor-in-chief on official letterhead and bearing an official seal/stamp, plus a brief description of your assignment at the Karlovy Vary IFF
- if you have already been accredited as a journalist at the festival, please submit a copy of the article you published about that year’s KVIFF
- if you were not accredited at last year’s KVIFF for a specific media outlet, please submit a copy of the lease three recently published articles on film, culture, or society
- if you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG)
- the accreditation fee, paid in person or by invoice

TV – reporter, crew
- a submitted online application for accreditation (for crews, the request must list each crew member)
- an official accreditation request signed by your program’s editor-in-chief on official letterhead and bearing an official seal/stamp, plus a brief description of the station and program and a brief description of your assignment at the Karlovy Vary IFF. For crews, the request must list each crew member and his or her specific job
- if you have already been accredited as a reporter/crew member at the festival, please submit a copy of your broadcast about the Karlovy Vary IFF on DVD
- if you were not accredited as a reporter at last year’s KVIFF for a specific program, please submit a copy of a recent sample of your work on DVD
- if you were not accredited at last year’s KVIFF for a specific media outlet, please submit a copy of the lease three recently published articles on film, culture, or society
- if you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG). (for crews, a photograph of each crew member)
- the accreditation fee, paid in person or by invoice

- you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG) (for crews, a photograph of each crew member)

Internet – reporter
- a submitted online application for accreditation
- an official accreditation request signed by your station editor-in-chief on official letterhead and bearing an official seal/stamp, plus a brief description of your assignment at the Karlovy Vary IFF
- if you have already been accredited as a web reporter at the festival, please submit a copy of the articles you published about that year’s KVIFF
- if you were not accredited as a reporter at last year’s KVIFF for a specific website, please submit copies of three recently published articles on film, culture, or society, including precise links to the webpages when they may be found
- please submit current page view statistics from an official, publicly verifiable page view auditor
- you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG) (for crews, a photograph of each crew member)

Photographer
- a submitted online application for accreditation
- an official accreditation request signed by your station editor-in-chief on official letterhead and bearing an official seal/stamp
- if you have already been accredited as a photographer at the festival, please submit copies of the photographs you published of that year’s KVIFF
- if you were not accredited as a photographer at last year’s KVIFF, please submit copies of recently published photographs on film, culture, or society
- you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG)

Press agency correspondent or photographer
- a submitted online application for accreditation
- an official request for Press accreditation signed by your editor-in-chief on official press agency letterhead and bearing an official seal/stamp, plus a brief description of your assignment at the Karlovy Vary IFF
- if you have already been accredited at the festival in the name of a press agency, please submit copies of your published articles on or photographs of that year’s KVIFF
- if you were not accredited in the name of a press agency at last year’s KVIFF, please submit copies of at least three recent articles or photographs you published on film, culture, or society
- you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG)
- the accreditation fee, paid in person or by invoice

Freelance journalist or photographer
- a submitted online application for accreditation
- a list of the media companies with whom you work submitted to press@kviff.com
- an official request for Press accreditation signed by the editor-in-chief of the primary media company you will be working for at this year’s KVIFF. It must be on official letterhead and bearing an official seal/stamp and include a brief description of your assignment at the Karlovy Vary IFF
- if you have already had Press accreditation at the festival, please submit copies of your published articles on or photographs of that year’s KVIFF
- if you did not have Press accreditation at last year’s KVIFF, please submit copies of at least three recent articles or photographs on film, culture, or society
- you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG)

PR Agent
- a submitted application for accreditation
- an official Press accreditation request, signed by the head of the agency or production or distribution company, containing information about the films you will be representing at this year's Karlovy Vary IFF
- if you have not been accredited since 2003, submit a photograph (JPEG)
- the accreditation fee, paid in person or by invoice
Press accreditation request
- only published journalists, photographers, TV reporters, TV crews, radio reporters, radio crews, internet reporters, press agency correspondents, and PR agents of films screened at the festival may apply for Press accreditation
- a press pass is not a substitute for fulfilling the above-mentioned conditions for receiving Press accreditation
- requests for Press accreditation take place from April 15 to June 5, 2013 (notice: after June 5, 2013 it is no longer possible to obtain Press accreditation, not even during the festival in Karlovy Vary)
- press accreditation fee: 1,200 CZK
- in the interest of ensuring the best conditions for journalists during the festival, the number of Press accreditations is limited – as a rule only one representative is accepted per media company

Approved Press accreditation
- the application information you receive from us will allow you to verify your festival information and accreditation and give you access to other information – therefore keep it safe
- before arriving at the festival, please check this website for your approved accreditation in the data on your online accreditation form (after logging on)
- the festival reserves the right to refuse to grant an accreditation. If you have not been granted accreditation, you will be informed in a timely manner
- Press accreditation is nontransferable
What Press accreditation offers
- free entry to: Press & Industry screenings, festival areas designated Press, press conferences, general festival screenings (if the theater is not already filled with guests with valid tickets)
- three free tickets to three different festival screenings daily (issued only to Press accreditation holders upon in-person submission of the accreditation card) from special box offices marked Press Box Office (at the press center and in the accreditation area)
- catalogue, program brochure, program of Press & Industry screenings, and other informative and promotional festival materials
- wide-ranging services offered by the press center and PR and press departments
Practical information
- pay the accreditation fee (1,200 CZK) to the accreditation Cashier in the accreditation area on the ground floor of Hotel Thermal in Karlovy Vary (if you would like to pay by invoice, please send your invoice details to press@kviff.com no later than June 5, 2013)
- pick up your Press accreditation in person in the accreditation area on the ground floor of Hotel Thermal beginning June 28, 2013 (you will be asked for confirmation that you have paid the accreditation fee when the accreditation is issued)
- lost Press accreditation cards may be replaced for a fee of 200 CZK
- to be included in Who’s Where and festival protocol, you will need to provide the dates of your stay and your local address (i.e. hotel name) on the online accreditation form
- Press Box Offices are located in the accreditation area and at the press center
- due to the high number of expected festival visitors, we recommend that you arrange accommodations as soon as possible
- Good Bed Agency accommodation agencies have counters in the accreditation area on the ground floor of Hotel Thermal
- information about transportation to the festival
- festival areas and accompanying events are designated for different categories of visitors (entrances are marked with the type of accreditation necessary for admittance)
