After Saturday’s screening of Denmark’s Applause, two competition movies are coming Sunday: the Iranian film Twenty, and France’s Villa Amalia, presented by celebrity guest Isabelle Huppert.

In addition, Huppert will accept a Crystal Globe for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema prior to Sunday’s screening of Villa Amalia. Isabelle Huppert will walk the red carpet on Sunday, July 5 at 5 PM.

On Sunday July 5 at 3 PM, Radio 1 YouTube Lounge (hotel Thermal) - the change of location! – a Master Class with renowned Iranian actress and director Niki Karimi, a member of this year’s main jury. Niki Karimi has appeared in more than 30 movies, and in 2005 she debuted as a director with One Night. Her second film, A Few Days Later, was screened at more than 80 festivals. Master Classes are conducted in English with no translation unless otherwise indicated.

On Sunday a special screening of Tobruk (4K digital version) will take place at KV’s new Arena Cinema. The war drama will be presented at the festival twice: at 4 PM for accredited festival guests and at 8 PM for all viewers. Find out more about the Tobruk screening here.

Today at the Reflex Point café at 4 PM, Reflex film reviewer Darina Křivánková will interview composer Vladimír Franz.

On Sunday, Czech Television will broadcast a special program, “Questions by Václav Moravec,” from the festival in Karlovy Vary. Václav Moravec has invited exceptional guests to Zander Hall (where James Bond’s Casino Royale was filmed). Many have already agreed to participate: former prime minister Mirek Topolánek, Karlovy Vary IFF president Jiří Bartoška, former culture minister Vítězslav Jandák, producer Pavel Strnad, and Star Wars producer Rick McCallum. Czech Television will broadcast film-oriented “Questions” on Sunday, July 5 at 12 PM on ČT1 and ČT24.
