Terribly Happy wins all the Danish awards

It has become a solid tradition that movies which captivate both juries and audiences at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival pick up other awards when screened elsewhere.
Danish director Henrik Ruben Genz’s TERRIBLY HAPPY, presented as a world premiere at the 43rd Karlovy Vary IFF, where it took the Grand Prix - Crystal Globe for Best Film, confirmed its quality at the Danes’ national film competition.
The Danish Film Academy conferred seven Roberts upon Terribly Happy, the highest film award given in Denmark. Terribly Happy garnered awards in the categories of Best Film, Best Director for Henrik Ruben Genz, Best Actor (Jakob Cedergren) and Best Actress (Lene Maria Christensen), as well as winning Roberts for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Song.

Henrik Ruben Genz and his Terribly Happy swept away other six awards, including Best Film, Bast Actor and Best Actress, at the Bodil Awards ceremony presented by the Danish Film Critics´ Association.
Another movie which took part in the competition at last year’s Karlovy Vary IFF and went on to win domestically is the Spanish documentary HEROES: WINGS ARE NOT NECESSARY TO FLY (Héroes, no hacen falta alas para volar) by director Ángel Loza. The film was awarded a Goya for Best Documentary under 30 minutes.
