The Eagle Huntress and Swiss Army Man to appear in the 51st KVIFF’s Official Selection – Out of Competition
This year’s Official Selection – Out of Competition will introduce five movies that will be screened at the 51st Karlovy Vary IFF as world, international and local premieres. An audience fav at Sundance this year, The Eagle Huntress (dir. Otto Bell) is a fascinating tale based on an actual events. The Filipino essay Brotherhood (dir. Pepe Diokno) offers up a disturbing look at contemporary Manila. The offbeat comedy Swiss Army Man from the Daniels directing duo uncovers the pleasures and perils of friendship born on a desert isle. Rachel Weisz shines in the US drama Complete Unknown by Joshua Marston and A Date for Mad Mary (dir. Darren Thornton) from Ireland reshapes the genre conventions of the suburban romance.
