News Šary Vary is Bringing 25 Festival Films to Prague and Brno

Published: July 12, 2016| 01:00 PM

From Saturday, July 9th, to Sunday, July 17th, you will be given the opportunity to catch up with what you missed during the festival thanks to the Official Festival Echoes Šary Vary. This year, 25 films, including the Main Competition winner as well as 7 films from this year's Official Selection of the Cannes festival, will be waiting for you in Prague cinemas Světozor and Aero and in the Scala cinema in Brno.

“Prague viewers will have the chance to visit the screening of the winning film and see for themselves whether they would agree with the verdict of the jury. I, myself, am very pleased that we will be able to screen the original film Swiss Army Man which caused a great uproar at Sundance. Moreover, it is very likely that the screening of the Swiss Army Man will be introduced by the very filmmakers who worked on it. From a great number of pre-premieres, the viewers will surely be interested in Woody Allen's Café Society, Pedro Almodóvar's Julieta or the new film of Jim Jarmusch Paterson,” Ivo Anderle, the coordinator of dramaturgy of the above mentioned cinemas, commented.

Three films are going to appear also in 30 other towns as part of the distribution event Karlovy Vary IFF in your cinema organized by the distribution label KVIFF Distribution. The positively charged American film with Viggo Mortensen Captain Fantasticthe French detective retro comedy of Bruno Dumont La Moute and the acclaimed Brazilian drama Neon Bull are not going to be missing from the programme of the Echoes either.

You can find the complete programme at http://www.ozvenyvaru.cz. The tickets for the individual screenings of the Official Echoes of the 51st Karlovy Vary IFF can be bought or booked online at the websites of the individual cinemas. Pre-sale is also underway at the box offices.
