The Karlovy Vary region and KVIFF have joined forces to present an exclusive screening of one of the festival’s films at cinemas throughout the Karlovy Vary region: in Ostrov, Sokolov, Chodov, Cheb and Mariánské Lázně.

On Tuesday 4 July 2017, immediately following the film’s screening at the Hotel Thermal, audiences at cinemas in these towns will have a chance to see renowned director Sofia Coppola’s latest film, The Beguiled starring Nicole Kidman.

The Beguiled is set in 1864 during the American Civil War. An injured soldier from the Union army finds himself at an all-girl boarding school somewhere in Virginia. But as he recuperates, the empathy with which the young women initially took him in and nursed him back to health is slowly replaced by jealousy and a struggle for his favour. Besides Kidman, the film’s stellar cast includes Elle Fanning, Kirsten Dunst, and Colin Farrell.
