Prague Short Film Festival

The 7th Prague Short Film Festival organized by the team behind the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will take place from January 18 to January 22, 2012 at Prague’s Svetozor cinema and offer a peak at the best short films produced around the world.

Short scripted films made during the past two years will go head to head in the festival’s International Competition, while the Panorama section will introduce films praised at international films festivals and by film academies in 2011. Sweden 2011 will offer the best of contemporary Swedish film and the traditional section Labo will showcase the newest experimental works. The newcomer, Delicatessen, will take viewers back in time to ancient film history and revisit the most important milestones of short film. Sorry Curator will also look back, this time at short films created by German women directors since 2000. The program of Utopia will take a closer look at social norms and ideals. Horror films, absurd and crazy comedies will take over the cinema at the live Brutal Relax Show. This year’s festival will also for the first time screen films for the youngest film fans in its Small Big World section.
