The Hungarian film DEAR BETRAYED FRIENDS returns to the East of the West competition
June 28, 2012, 4:50 PM
On 15 June, the Karlovy Vary festival was obliged to cancel the planned world premiere of Sára Cserhalmi’s film Dear Betrayed Friends due to sudden problems with post-production funding. This news provoked a fervent public debate in Hungary, which led immediately to a financial offer from a private entity in Hungary, enabling the filmmakers to complete the film in record time and thus take part in the prestigious competition.
„We are delighted to confirm the return of Sara’s exciting debut to the East of the West competition,“ said KVIFF’s artistic director Karel Och. In the presence of a film delegation, the premiere will be held on 5 July at 4:30pm in the Pupp cinema. The detailed information of the film are included in the relevant section on the website and in printed form distributed via the Press Centre.
