News Jeremy Renner loves smart directors

Even with a broken arm and a broken wrist, but equipped with a good mood, Jeremy Renner came to Karlovy Vary for the festival to present the public with his film Wind River. Shortly before that he also had a press conference with journalists, who immediately wanted to know what had happened to him. "I got hurt while filming," the famous actor explained.

The reporters were also interested to know why he didn't go into music instead of acting when he has such a talent for it. "I consciously chose to keep music as a pure expression of feelings. I didn't want to turn it into work. Acting also incorporates psychology, so it helps me out in life and makes me a better person," Renner responded. However he refused the offer of singing at the press conference.

He also mentioned that since his daughter was born he doesn't want to shoot outside of North America, that he likes highly intelligent directors like Taylor Sheridan or Denis Villeneuve, with whom he filmed Wind River and Arrival respectively, and he described working with Kathryn Bigelow, who cast him in her breakout film The Hurt Locker.

Now the California native is a star, in part thanks to the Avengers and Mission: Impossible series. "Unfortunately I can't take part in filming of the new M:I instalment due to work on Avengers," said Renner.
