Eva Zaoralová Awarded Polish Presidential Citations

KVIFF’s Artistic Consultant Eva Zaoralova received the Knight Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland today in Prague awarded by the President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the development of Polish and Czech cultural dialogue.
Eva Zaoralova accepted the presidential awards from Chargé d’Affaires Marek Minarczuk, who praised mainly her lasting and close interest in Polish cinematography, ties with Polish filmmakers and her role in popularizing Polish cinematography in the Czech Republic. As the former Artistic Director of the Karlovy Vary IFF, Eva Zaoralova was instrumental in introducing the Czech and international public to classic Polish films and talented young filmmakers. Polish films have been regularly included in the competition and non-competition sections of the Karlovy Vary IFF and have won numerous awards at this prestigious event.
