Producer Evzen Kolar, a long-time supporter of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, recently passed away in the United States. His many producing credits include films such as Bruce Beresford’s drama Bride of the Wind or John Irvin’s City of Industry and Boys from County Clare, all of which were shown at KVIFF. In 1994, Kolar was a member of the International Jury of the 29th KVIFF.
“Evzen Kolar supported and helped our festival since the 1990s, and he believed from the beginning that we would succeed in turning it into a grand survey of international cinema. It is thanks in part to his support and collaboration that the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival enjoys the respect it has today in the world of cinema,” says KVIFF’s president Jiří Bartoška.
