The Mill and The Cross is a captivating and original film based on Brueghel’s 16th century masterpiece The Procession to Calvary. In an interview, the film’s Polish director Lech Majewski discusses his relationship to the work of the great painter, and explains why he dislikes the “idiotic speed” of much of contemporary film.
