TO THE CINEMA WITH JUST A WRISTBAND!
55th annual Karlovy Vary IFF
Update as of 10 August 2021
Before you travel to the festival please make sure you are familiar with current rules and conditions for entering Czech Republic.
We prepared a guidance for you to follow to ensure you have all the necessary documents and meet all the requirements.
The 55th annual Karlovy Vary IFF will take place in compliance with all public health and anti-pandemic measures that are in effect at the time it is being held
(20-28 August 2021).
This year’s festival will take place with maximum safety and without unnecessary wait times for all visitors.
„To the cinema with just a wristband“.
The wristband received by all festival attendees will be a condition for entry to film screenings and festival premises.
Audiences in cinemas and indoor spaces are obliged to have their airways covered with an FFP2/KN95/N95 respirator or nano face mask at all times.
A wristband confirming infection-free status is required for attending film screenings and moving around the festival’s indoor premises.
The wristband will be issued solely on the basis of a QR code from an EU COVID-19 Certificate (printed out or in a Covid Pass app). You will obtain an EU COVID-19 Certificate after fulfilling one of the following conditions:
two weeks after full vaccination.
confirmation issued by a certified site of having had COVID-19 less than 180 days ago.
confirmation of a valid PCR or antigen test issued by a certified laboratory.
Recommendations of KVIFF organisers to attendees
- If it is feasible in terms of time and health, make maximum use of the option of free vaccination against COVID-19.
- If you will be using a PCR or antigen test, take it as close to the date of your time at the 55th annual KVIFF as possible with validity for the time you wish to spend at the festival.
- If your test stops being valid during the festival, take another test with a certified provider without delay, on the basis of which you will be issued an EU COVID-19 Certificate and subsequently a new wristband with marked validity by the Covid Control Team.
- Check the conditions required by your accommodations with respect for the valid regulations before leaving for Karlovy Vary.
- Have a sufficient supply of approved respirators or nano face masks to protect your airways.
- Monitor your own health and follow the valid Ministry of Health instructions.
Aside from a valid ticket you will also need a valid wristband confirming you are non-infectious to enter the cinema rooms and festival premises.
For this reason, please come to the festival with, ideally, completed vaccination (at least 14 days after application) or a certified PCR test.
Types of wristband
FOR THE WHOLE DURATION OF THE FESTIVAL
You obtain a wristband for the whole duration of the festival on the basis of an EU COVID-19 Certificate on vaccination completed more than 14 days ago, or on the basis of an EU COVID-19 Certificate on the assumed immunity period following a positive COVID-19 test (as long as this does not expire before 28 August 2021).
Find more information in the Model Cases.
WITH A SPECIFIC VALIDITY DATE
You obtain a wristband with a specific validity date on the basis of an EU COVID-19 Certificate on:
- a PCR/antigen test with a negative result
- assumed immunity (180 days) after a positive COVID-19 test (if this period ends during the festival).
The wristband will state the date of the last full day (i.e. 24 hours)* of the validity of the EU COVID-19 Certificate.
*Example: The submitted certificate is valid until 24 August 2021 at 11:59 pm => the validity recognised by the festival is up until 23 August 2021 for the whole day.
How to obtain a wristband (1)
COVID CONTROL TEAM
WRISTBANDS CAN BE OBTAINED AT STATIONS OF THE COVID CONTROL TEAM:
- at the accreditation centre cash desks in hotels Thermal and Pupp
- or from the mobile Covid Control Teams (moving around by the cash desks and in front of the entrances to the festival premises)
HOW TO RECOGNISE THE COVID CONTROL TEAM:
- stations marked clearly
- recognise the mobile Covid Control Team by their white reflective vests and the CCT label
In order to obtain a wristband, you must show a QR code from an EU COVID-19 Certificate, either in printed form or in a Covid Pass app.
You cannot obtain a wristband at the entrance to the cinemas!
Each attendee receives the wristband right on their wrist.
Thus it is not possible to pick up wristbands for other attendees.
Pick up your wristband in time.
I completed my vaccination at least 14 days ago
This is the best option. After showing the QR code from your EU COVID-19 Certificate, you will receive a wristband valid for the whole festival.
I had COVID-19 less than 180 days ago
After showing the QR code from your EU COVID-19 Certificate you will receive a wristband for the whole festival. If the 180 days after certified illness runs out during the festival, you will receive a wristband up until the given day. To get a new wristband you will have to get tested at one of the certified testing sites.
Tested (or not)
I will arrive in Karlovy Vary with a valid PCR or antigen test
After showing the QR code from your EU COVID-19 Certificate on a PCR/antigen test with a negative result, you will receive a wristband valid up until the last whole day (i.e. 24 hours) for which the certificate is valid. If you wish to visit the festival premises and screenings after that, take advantage of the option of getting tested right in Karlovy Vary. After showing the new QR code of your EU COVID-19 Certificate, you will receive a new corresponding wristband.
I will arrive in Karlovy Vary without confirmation of being infection-free
Get tested at one of the certified testing sites in Karlovy Vary before entering the festival premises and screenings. You will then receive a corresponding wristband on the basis of the QR code on your EU COVID-19 Certificate.
