KVIFF Eastern Promises Industry Days unveils 35 selected film projects, which will be presented at Works in Progress, Docs in Progress, Works in Development - Feature Launch and Eurimages Lab Project Award. Presentations of projects to industry professionals will take place on Monday, July 1st and Tuesday, July 2nd and the most promising projects will be supported by awards whose value totals 165 000 EUR. As a new addition to Industry Program, the First Cut Lab, an international expert platform, will provide consulting workshops for 3 projects in their rough cut phase. 

A total of 9 projects were selected for Works in Progress from countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Balkans, former Soviet Union and newly from the Middle East. Each will premier after the Karlovy Vary IFF and are in the post-production stage. You may view these projects here. The prize will be decided by jury members Khalil Benkirane, Aija Berzina and Virginie Devesa. 

Eight projects will be presented in the competition of Docs in Progress, introducing documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, former Soviet Union states and the Middle East. They are in late production stage or in post-production. Works in Development - Feature Launch is platform organised in collaboration of MIDPOINT international script development program, co-production market When East Meets West and Trieste Film Festival and the KVIFF. Eight projects, developed within this Feature Launch program will be presented in Karlovy Vary and are now looking for co-production partners. You can view the projects here. 

The Eurimages Lab Project Award will showcase 8 projects in production or post-production stage, each transgressing the borders of traditional filmmaking. The best project, selected by international jury comprised of Majlinda Tafa, Frank Peijnenburg and Tereza Nvotová will receive an award of 50.000 EUR. More information about projects is here .  

First Cut Lab Karlovy Vary is a brand new programme designed for 3 long feature fiction films in editing phase. Their creative teams will receive expert feedback from a panel comprised of Frédéric Boyer, Anna Ciennik, Kriz Anthony Gazmen, Juraj Krasnohorsky, John Nein, Freddy Olsson, Susana Santos Rodrigues, Wim Vanacker a Meng Xie. The main goal is to foster the artistic development and to increase the sales, festival and circulation potential of the completed films. Check the list of selected projects here .
