A poetic portrait of a young Dutch-Polish couple who decide to live without the trappings of civilisation in a God-forsaken corner of northern Poland.

Synopsis

“For me, a life of luxury means to be contented with what I’ve got. I don’t need a stupid microwave or television,” says Dutch girl Jeanet, who decided to live with her Polish boyfriend Raul in a God-forsaken corner of northern Poland. Director Filip Marczewski took it upon himself to record the life of this young couple for several months, a life spent in the middle of a wonderful but harsh natural landscape. Going against the exodus of young people heading for the West, Jeanet and Raul set off in the opposite direction. A simple, yet convincing film which also offers an interesting probe into the kind of life rural Poland has to offer.
