Dílson, Dadá and Denis, three young men living in the El Vidigal quarter of Rio de Janeiro, are drawn to each other through friendship and a shared interest in acting. The movie records their experiences, dreams, hopes and hidden desires. But because of the difficult economic situation they, like many other Brazilians, will only be able to dream about certain things.
Synopsis
Dílson, Dadá and Denis live in the El Vidigal quarter of Rio de Janeiro, and the three friends share an interest in acting. We learn about their life experiences, about their dreams, hopes and desires. From an economic standpoint they, like many other Brazilians, can only dream about certain things. Dadá won the ABD “and” C Award for the Best Film at the 11th National Short Film Festival.
About the director
Eduardo Vaisman (b. 1970, Rio de Janiero) has been working in film since 1989 when he completed a film course at New York’s New School for Social Research. In 1994 he graduated in film from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has made many shorts, commercials, documentaries and music videos. Dadá is his fifth short film.
