Synopsis

After profiles of Roman Polanski and Richard Pryor, acclaimed documentarist Marina Zenovich turned her attention towards matchless comedian and respected dramatic actor Robin Williams (1951-2014), who became celebrated for his dazzling performances in films like Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society and The Fisher King. His life and career are relayed to us via never-before-seen archive footage and reminiscences from friends and colleagues. The endearing and wild eccentric was regarded by many as the wittiest man on the planet, yet the director’s complex take on this volcanic personality also draws in the shadier moments of his turbulent life, such as his drug and alcohol dependency and the need to subordinate family life to his artistic calling.
