Marica

Future Frames: Ten New Filmmakers To Follow 2018 / Marica / Croatia 2017

Marica’s husband has problems again and, for her, it’s the last straw that prevents her from returning home from work, but it’s also what allows her to finally be on her own. To have the time to reflect upon the life she doesn’t have and possibly can’t ever have. A fragile film about a moment that can change everything in the life of a middle-aged woman.

Marica Marica

Synopsis

Once again Marica’s husband has problems and it’s the last straw. She doesn’t want to go home from work, and maybe the situation will encourage her to finally be on her own – a short break may also help her gather her strength. Although, who knows, perhaps she already had it in her when she decided not to open the door to her flat. Marica is a fragile film about an elusive moment in time when it seems that little will happen yet it turns out to be life-changing.
