The comedy drama Luxembourg, Luxembourg narrates a story about twin brothers of completely opposite characters. One is a police officer, the other a petty criminal and a drug dealer. The film is partly autobiographical, inspired by a tough moment in the director’s life – the last days of his father, who left the family when the future filmmaker was still young.

Director Antonio Lukich reflects in the pair of the permanently quarrelling brothers his own dilemma. “One part of me loved him and wanted to be with him, the other was hurt and wished to stay as far away from him as possible,” Lukich admitted to the audience in a discussion after the screening at the Drahomíra Cinema. “I have this theory that in countries where life is hard, people have a great sense of humour. It has something to do with the weather, just look at
Britain,” contemplated Lukich. His comedy has become an audience hit in Ukraine and has already grossed over one million euros.
