Synopsis
After his wife and children leave him, Man Sik lives alone and has difficulty finding work. He gets a job, but on the day which just happens to be the anniversary of his mother’s death, no pay comes his way. Her memorial ceremony will be modest and not very joyful. But hope is concealed in the heart of sorrow.
About the director
Park Heung Sik (b. 1962) studied German culture and literature at National University in Seoul. He continued at Berlin’s Freie Universität and then at the film department of Chung Ang University. In 1992 he made his first short film, I’d Rather Sleep than Dream. A Day was screened at festivals in Freiburg, Switzerland and Turin.
