Published: July 08, 2015| 08:00 AM

On Wednesday don't miss the KVIFF Talk "Become a Vachkophile", the movie Zero, which will be introduced in person by actor Udo Kier, and the documentary about photographer Zuzana Mináčová.

You can start Wednesday's festival day off with the Romanian-Bulgarian-Czech film Aferim!, which will be introduced personally by producers. This black-and-white "Eastern", which received the Silver Bear for direction at the Berlin Film Festival, starts at 11:30 in the Grand Hall. As part of the section Six Close Encounters, director Mark Cousins will personally introduce the film of his heart A Moment of Innocence (13:00 Karlovy Vary Theatre).

At the next KVIFF Talk you will learn how to become a Vachkophile. The panel is for those who don't know documentary filmmaker Karel Vachek, or are afraid of him, and includes clips from his films moderated in simple language by his producers (13:30 Cinema C).

Matěj Hádek and Lucie Žáčková will be giving out autographs starting at 14:00 at the RWE booth by the Mill Colonnade. Starting at 15:00 at Czech Television House will be a discussion on the activities of the Czech Television Film Centre. Director Matej Mináč will acquaint you with his mother, long-time KVIFF associate Zuzana Mináčová, in his film portrait Through the Eyes of the Photographer at the Congress Hall.

The Main Competition will also continue on Wednesday. Romanian-French-Polish entry The Magic Mountain will have its international première (17:00 Grand Hall), while the evening will feature the world première of the Austrian drama Those Who Fall Have Wings (20:00 Grand Hall). The competition East of the West offers the world première of Hungarian-Czech-German genre collage Zero, which will be introduced in person by actor Udo Kier (16:00 Karlovy Vary Theatre). Another candidate from this section is the co-production drama CHROMIUM, which we will also be seen by the world for the first time in Karlovy Vary (18:30 Karlovy Vary Theatre).

At 18:00 the Karlovy Vary City festival performance begins, featuring the groups OMEGA & KSO and Olympic along with the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra at the Outdoor Cinema. As part of the presentation of the 70th anniversary of FAMU, the project 70 years/70 films will be presented, projecting a digitally altered work by Jaromil Jireš Hall of Lost Steps. It will be introduced by Juraj Jakubisko and Saša Gedeon (19:45 Cinema A).

We also recommend the world première of the documentary Film Adventurer Karel Zeman (18:30 Cinema B). Introducing it in person along with other team members will be director Tomáš Hodan, who will also take part in the post-screening discussion.
