Who’s that calling Josef Somr?
Unveiling the new trailer for this year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
As in the past, the 52nd KVIFF features a new festival trailer. This year’s trailer was shot by leading Czech actor and recipient of the KVIFF President’s Award Josef Somr.
Somr thus becomes the seventh Czech recipient of a KVIFF President’s Award or Crystal Globe for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema to be associated with the festival’s trailer, joining Věra Chytilová, Miloš Forman, Jiří Menzel, Miroslav Ondříček and Zdeněk Svěrák. One trailer was made posthumously in memory of Otakar Vávra.
This year’s mini-story, which besides Josef Somr features other surprises, was filmed in mid-June by director Ivan Zachariáš.
The trailer’s premiere screening will be at the KVIFF opening ceremony on Friday 30 June in the Grand Hall of the Hotel Thermal.
