Festival Pass, Tickets, Box Offices
Find your own way to enjoy the 60th anniversary of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. We’ve put together an overview of all the options for purchasing tickets and festival passes. Choose the one that suits you best: from the classic Festival Pass to the digital Festival Pass+ and this year’s new addition, Festival Pass+ Smart.
How to attend a screening?
Choosing the right option depends on how many films you plan to see. You can either buy individual tickets for specific films or purchase a Festival Pass, which works like a "subscription" – it entitles you to three tickets per day and gives you access to the rest of the festival program.
Individual tickets without Festival Pass
-
Tickets are available for the day of the screening or the following day. Due to high demand, we recommend purchasing tickets one day in advance, as cinemas are often sold out on the day of the screening.
Festival Pass
-
Festival Pass – a standard pass valid for 1, 3, 5, or all 9 days of the festival, available for purchase on-site at the festival box offices in Karlovy Vary.
- Festival Pass+ – a digital pass for the full 9 days of the festival (July 3–11, 2026), which can be purchased in advance, allowing you to reserve tickets from home before arriving at the festival.
- Festival Pass+ Smart – digital pass for 6 days of the festival following the first weekend (July 6–11, 2026). It offers the same convenience of online booking but is intended for those who prefer to experience the festival without the crowds of the first weekend.
How much does the Festival Pass cost and what does it include?
- Up to 3 free tickets per day for 3 different films.
- Option to reserve tickets via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app or collect them directly at the festival box offices.
- Access to press conferences at Hotel Thermal if there is space available (accredited journalists have priority).
- Access to KVIFF Talks with actors, directors, and other film professionals.
- Possibility to attend films without a ticket – five minutes before the screening, unoccupied seats are released. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis and seats are not guaranteed.
- Free use of festival buses and Specialized festival bicycles.

Digital passes Festival Pass+ and Festival Pass+ Smart
- As part of our 60th anniversary edition, in addition to the popular digital Festival Pass+, we’re
introducing a brand-new option: Festival Pass+ Smart, intended for visitors
arriving after the opening weekend and valid from Monday, July 6, until the end of the festival. Both digital options allow you to book tickets online before
arriving at the festival, right from the comfort of your home.
- With both digital passes, in addition to standard accreditation features, you also receive a wide range of additional benefits. These include, for example, a one-month subscription to the KVIFF.TV streaming platform for a symbolic 1 CZK, discounts on official festival merchandise, and other special offers from our partners.

When and where can I buy, reserve and pick up tickets?
The ticket purchasing process has clear rules that ensure a fair chance for all visitors. Here’s a guide to help make sure your ticket purchase goes smoothly.
Tickets for Festival Pass holders can be booked via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide mobile app every day at 7:00 a.m. This time applies to holders of the standard Festival Pass as well as holders of the digital Festival Pass+ and Festival Pass+ Smart passes. Sales and pickup of reserved tickets at the festival box offices always begin at 8:00 a.m. Tickets can only be reserved or purchased during these hours for films screening on the current day and the following day, to ensure that new visitors also have a chance to attend screenings. This rule applies to both picking up/reserving tickets for Festival Passes and purchasing individual tickets at the box offices. Holders of Festival Pass+ / Festival Pass+ Smart will receive their pass in digital form before the festival begins and can reserve tickets online without having to be physically present in Karlovy Vary in advance.
The only exception is the day on which ticket sales begin – Thursday, July 2, 2026 – when, starting at 9:00 a.m., you can reserve and purchase tickets directly for the first two days of the festival – Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4 – both at the box offices and via the mobile app.
All tickets reserved via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide mobile app must be physically picked up at one of the festival box offices no later than 60 minutes before the start of the screening. After that, the tickets will be returned to the ticket pool.
Example: If you want to reserve or pick up a ticket for July 6, you can do so as early as July 5 at 7:00 a.m. using the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app, or visit one of the box offices at 8:00 a.m..
Our tip: Two different ticket capacities are allocated for ticket sales/pickup at the box offices and reservations via the mobile app. Therefore, if you are unable to reserve a ticket in the app due to capacity being exceeded, we recommend checking for tickets in person at a festival box office.
Our Tips
-
Are you a Festival Pass holder? Avoid the morning lines at the box office and conveniently reserve your tickets online via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app. You can then pick up your tickets at the box office at any time during the day, but no later than 60 minutes before the screening begins. Please note that unclaimed reservations will be returned to the ticket sales system!
- Get a digital Festival Pass+ or Festival Pass+ Smart, which you can purchase in advance – and reserve your tickets from the comfort of your own home before arriving at the festival.
-
Do you have a Festival Pass and want to try your luck with last-minute tickets? Head to the staircase of the Thermal Hotel and go to the Last Minute ticket office. That’s where all unclaimed tickets will be gathered 15 minutes before the film starts, and they’ll be available to all Festival Pass holders or accredited visitors.
-
If you have a Festival Pass and didn’t manage to pick up or reserve tickets for your chosen film in time, you can join the line right outside the movie theater. Five minutes before the screening starts, all remaining seats in the theater will be offered to those waiting in line. Keep in mind that seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed.
-
If you have a valid ticket, please make sure to be in your seat in the theatre on time. Five minutes before the screening begins, all unoccupied seats in the theatre will be given to other audience, and your right to that seat will expire.
-
If a movie is rescheduled or canceled, you can request a refund for your tickets (at the main ticket offices in the Thermal Hotel).
-
Please do not bring dogs into the movie theaters, they are not allowed inside, with the exception of service dogs accompanying visitors with disabilities.
