Festival Pass, Tickets, Box Offices

On this page, you will find complete information on how to get tickets for films at the 59th edition of KVIFF – whether by purchasing individual tickets or through the Festival Pass accreditation. For the first time, we also offer a digital version of the pass called Festival Pass+, which can be purchased even before the festival begins.

Festival box offices and online ticket reservations will open for the first time on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM.

How to attend a screening?

There are two basic ways to attend screenings:

Individual tickets without accreditation

  • Purchase an individual ticket for a selected film at a box office.

Festival Pass (Accreditation)

  • Festival Pass in physical form, available for purchase on-site in Karlovy Vary at the festival box offices.
  • Festival Pass+ in digital form, available for purchase in advance – allowing you to reserve tickets before arriving at the festival.

How much does the Festival Pass cost and what does it include?

  • Up to 3 free tickets per day for 3 different films.
  • Option to reserve tickets via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app or collect them directly at the festival box offices.
  • Access to press conferences at Hotel Thermal if there is space available (accredited journalists have priority).
  • Access to KVIFF Talks with actors, directors, and other film professionals.
  • Possibility to attend films without a ticket – five minutes before the screening, unoccupied seats are released. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis and seats are not guaranteed.
  • Free use of festival buses and Specialized festival bicycles.

When can you buy, reserve, or collect tickets?

Tickets for holders of Festival Pass are released in the Vodafone KVIFF Guide mobile app every day at 7:00 AM. This time applies to both classic and digital Festival Pass holders. Sales and pick-up of reserved tickets at box offices start daily at 8:00 AM. During these hours, you can buy or reserve tickets only for screenings on the current and following day, to ensure new arrivals also get access. This rule applies to both Festival Pass reservations and individual ticket purchases. Festival Pass+ holders receive their pass in digital form before the festival and can reserve tickets online without being physically present in Karlovy Vary.

The only exception is the presale launch day, Thursday, July 3, 2025, when from 9:00 AM you can reserve and buy tickets for the first two days of the festival – Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5 – both at box offices and via the mobile app. All tickets reserved in the Vodafone KVIFF Guide mobile app must still be physically picked up at one of the festival box offices no later than 60 minutes before the screening starts. After that, the tickets are returned to the system.

Example: If you want to reserve or pick up a ticket for July 6, you can do so starting on July 5 at 7:00 AM via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app or go to a box office at 8:00 AM.

Our tip: There are separate ticket allocations for the app and the box offices. If tickets are unavailable in the app, try checking at the box office.

Our Tips

  • Do you have a Festival Pass? Skip the morning queues and reserve tickets online through the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app. You can then pick them up at the box office anytime during the day – but no later than 60 minutes before the screening. Uncollected reservations will be released back for sale!
  • Get a digital Festival Pass+, available for purchase in advance – and reserve tickets from home before arriving at the festival.
  • Have a Festival Pass and want to try your luck last minute? Head to the Last Minute box office at the Thermal stairs. 15 minutes before the film starts, all uncollected tickets are made available to Festival Pass holders or accredited visitors.
  • Didn’t manage to reserve or collect a ticket in time? With your Festival Pass, you can queue directly at the screening hall. 5 minutes before the film, any remaining seats are offered to people in line. First come, first served – seats are not guaranteed.
  • If you have a valid ticket, be sure to be seated on time. 5 minutes before the screening starts, all unoccupied seats are released and your seat may be given away.
  • In case of a film cancellation or change, you can claim a refund at the main box offices at Hotel Thermal.
  • No pets allowed in screening halls – service dogs accompanying disabled visitors are the only exception.

Box Offices

Box Offices

A total of 25 box offices will be available to festival visitors. More detailed information will be available on this website during June 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't pick up my reserved ticket?

It will expire 60 minutes before the screening. The seat will be released back into the system.

What if there are no tickets for my film in the app?

Try the box office – and vice versa. Part of the capacity is in the app, part at the box offices.

What if I don’t have a Festival Pass?

You can still buy individual tickets directly at the box office.

What if I want to see a film but don’t have a ticket?

Try 5 minutes before the start directly at the hall. Any unoccupied seats will be released.

What’s the difference between Festival Pass and Festival Pass+?

Festival Pass+ is the digital version of the classic pass. It allows earlier reservations and includes bonuses, but the reservation rules and capacities are the same for all.

How do I reserve tickets?

Through the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app (Android / iOS) – free to download.

Do I need to collect a physical ticket?

Yes – this applies to both regular tickets and reservations with a Festival Pass. The ticket is checked at entry.

Is entry without a ticket possible?

Yes – if there are free seats 5 minutes before the start. Entry is based on the queue order.

I want Festival Pass+, what should I do?

Apply between May 29 and June 9, 2025. Capacity is limited – if oversubscribed, a lottery will be held. Go to application.
