Tickets and Festival Passes
Are you planning to attend the next edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival? We will
announce the exact dates when sales begin in due course. As a reminder, here is how our reservation
system traditionally works:
-
Festival Passes: Online advance sales of both classic and digital passes (Festival Pass+)
launch during June.
-
Film tickets: Advance sales always begin one day before the festival starts. During
the festival, the “today and tomorrow” rule applies – tickets can only be obtained for the current and
following day.
How to attend a screening?
Choosing the right option depends on how many films you plan to see. You can either buy individual tickets for
specific films or purchase a Festival Pass, which works like a "subscription" – it entitles you to three tickets
per day and gives you access to the rest of the festival program.
Individual tickets without Festival Pass
-
You can purchase tickets for selected films at the
festival box office.
-
Tickets are available for the day of the screening or the following day. Due to high demand, we
recommend purchasing tickets one day in advance, as cinemas are often sold out on the day of the
screening.
Festival Passes
-
Festival Pass – a standard pass valid for 1, 3, 5, or all 9 days of the festival,
available for purchase on-site at the festival box offices in Karlovy Vary.
-
Festival Pass+ – a digital pass
for the full 9 days of the festival , which can be purchased in advance, allowing
you to reserve tickets from home before arriving at the festival.
-
Festival Pass+ Smart – digital
pass for 6 days of the festival following the first weekend . It offers the same
convenience of online booking but is intended for those who prefer to experience the festival
without the crowds of the first weekend.
How much does the Festival Pass cost and what does it include?
- Up to 3 free tickets per day for 3 different films. You are eligible for up to three tickets to three different screenings each day.
-
Convenient ticket booking. Option to reserve tickets via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app or directly
at the festival box offices.
-
A chance to see a film even without a ticket. Viewers with valid tickets must take up their places no later than 5 minutes before the beginning of the screening,
otherwise their right to their seat will be automatically withdrawn. Only the organizer decides about the use of vacant seats.
-
Get closer to the film creators. Free admission to KVIFF Talks and official press conferences at the Thermal Hotel (unless the room is filled with accredited journalists).
-
Free transportation within Karlovy Vary. Free use of festival buses and
Specialized festival bicycles.
-
Extra benefits beyond the Cinema. Get a special discount in
tourist destinations in the Karlovy Vary Region.
Digital passes Festival Pass+ and Festival Pass+ Smart
Would you like to reserve tickets online before arriving at the festival? Choose one of our digital options:
- Festival Pass+: The traditional pass valid for the entire festival.
-
Festival Pass+ Smart: A discounted option for visitors who arrive after the opening
weekend (always valid from the first festival Monday until the end of the event).
With both digital passes, you get not only the option of convenient online booking from home, but also a rich
package of benefits. Traditionally, you can look forward to a discounted subscription to the KVIFF.TV
streaming platform, discounts on official festival merchandise, and other special offers from our partners.
