One of the most popular Czech authors of the 1960s, Jan Procházka is known not only as a screenwriter who, in association with director Karel Kachyňa, created a series of excellent films, but also as one of the leading figures involved in the Prague Spring of 1968, whose life was also marked by the dreaded StB secret police.
