The Karlovy Vary IFF offers charity organizations and foundations opportunities to take part in an attractive media environment and avail themselves of the large numbers of festival visitors to present their community service programmes and projects on a major scale.
The official nonprofit partner of the 59th Karlovy Vary IFF is the Czech organization Sue Ryder, which has been helping seniors for 27 years, especially during the challenging times that can come with aging.
It also supports those who care for their ageing loved ones at home. This care affects more than a third of the adult population, who often face difficult and long-term challenges. That's why, in addition to comprehensive one-to-one support - in the form of counselling, care homes and outreach personal assistance services - Sue Ryder is also working to bring about systemic change and new approaches to care for older people. Its main mission is to enable every person in the Czech Republic to grow old with dignity.
In addition to direct services for the elderly, it educates other organizations and the government. For its long-standing care of war veterans, it has been awarded a badge of honour by the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic.
Sue Ryder's patron at the Karlovy Vary IFF is actress, director and author Antonia Martinec Forman, whom visitors can meet in person during the organization's main festival activities.
First-hand brews throughout the year.
