Festival cooperation with charity organisations
The Karlovy Vary IFF offers charity organizations and foundations opportunities to take part in an attractive media environment and avail themselves of the large numbers of festival visitors to present their community service programmes and projects on a major scale.
Festival cooperation with charity organisations
After the 51st Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, a new long-term project was born – "The People Next Door", organized in collaboration with our partner, the Sirius Foundation. The project is focused on movies that address issues related to disabled people, which is one area in which the Sirius Foundation has been active for many years. The first year featured films about people with mobility impairments, 2017 focused on visual impairments, the year after that on hearing impairments, and the 54th Karlovy Vary IFF showed films on the subject of mobility, visual, and hearing impairments. This year’s official non-profit festival partner in 2019 was the Patron of Children (Patron dětí) project, a charitable project by the Sirius Foundation aimed at helping handicapped and socially disadvantaged children and their families in the Czech Republic.
In previous years we have supported:
