You have one last chance at this year's festival to participate in a KVIFF Talk debate. Today we welcome American actress Patricia Clarkson, who won a Golden Globe this year for the successful television series Sharp Objects. The debate with this actress, who was nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her role in Pieces of April in 2004, will take place at 14:15 in the Hotel Thermal Vodafone Lounge. After that Clarkson will present the 2014 film Learning to Drive at 16:00 in the Municipal Theatre. We'll see this actress yet again at the closing ceremony of the 54th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival when she receives her Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema.
The last film in the festival's Liberated section to be screened will be Věra Chytilová's The Inheritance, her best post-revolution work. This film about the trials and tribulations of a corrupt parvenu, Bohuš, will be shown at 17:00 in the Grand Hall.
At 17:00 a debate about director Jiří Vejdělek's new film, The Last of the Noblewomen, will take place in the Czech Television House. This film tells the story of a New Yorker who, thanks to his aristocratic ancestry, gets his ancient family home back in the restitution at the end of 1996.
At 19:00 at the Mill Colonnade there will be an introduction of the teams from the innogy co-produced films – On the Roof, The Lady Terrorist, The Painted Bird and The Last of the Noblewomen – and the innogy Blue Cube award will be presented. Lenny and her band and Chinaski will then perform. The Kaiser 54 club at Lázně I is also offering another musical performance: an energetic show by Midi Lidi at 22:00. Tickets to the concert cost CZK 200.
First-hand brews throughout the year.
