The tranquil, traditional life of a family from the Native American Wayuu tribe falls victim to the increasing wealth arising from the flourishing marijuana trade. What initially looked like an innocent way to add to the dowry becomes a battleground of hostility, violence and revenge. A visually refined family saga set among the newly emerging drug cartels.
Synopsis
The tranquil, traditional life of a family from the indigenous Wayuu population falls victim to the thirst for wealth. The main protagonist, Rapayet, loses touch with the life of his people and becomes a major marijuana dealer. What starts out as an innocent way of earning enough money to marry his beloved ends in conflict and vanity and a spiral of intra-tribal violence and revenge. The nonprofessional actors give natural performances as characters radiating dignity and honor. A visually polished family saga about the birth of the drug cartels, the film comments on the national history of Colombia and the state of the country today.
