Everything Everywhere All At Once

Midnight Screenings 2022 / Everything Everywhere All At Once / USA 2022

An ultimate, opulent, lavish, bombastic, and at times stochastic, action-packed ride through the multiverse that masterfully mixes fight choreography with existential questions. A mix of genres ranging from action comedy to family drama, firmly held together by the sensitive brutality of the duo behind the hit Swiss Army Man.

Everything Everywhere All At Once Everything Everywhere All At Once

Synopsis

Besides English, aging laundry operator Evelyn also struggles with her family situation: She grew apart from her husband and her father long ago, and now it seems that she might lose her daughter Joy as well. And not losing her will be a far greater struggle than she or anyone in the audience could have ever imagined. This ultimate, opulent, lavish, bombastic, and at times stochastic, action-packed ride through the multiverse masterfully mixes fight choreography with existential questions. A mix of genres ranging from action comedy to family drama, the film is firmly held together by the sensitive brutality of the Daniels and by an excellent performance by Michelle Yeoh, who shows versality and maturity in dramatic, comedic, and purely action-oriented scenes.
