Czech short film To Accept among the winners of Nespresso Talents

May 19, 2017, 9:35

To Accept, a strong, humorous and emotional story by filmmaker Daria Kashcheeva of the Czech Republic, which tells the tale of accepting oneself, is one of two favourites of the international jury consisting of talented artists such as Tom Wlaschiha (actor, Game of Thrones), Will Darbyshire (filmmaker), and Lidia Sheinin (movie director and winner of Nespresso Talents 2016). Kashcheeva will receive a financial reward of EUR 6,000 EUR, to be presented at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, as well as mentoring from Nespresso’s partners, La Semaine de la Critique and Berlinale Talents.

The three winners of the local round and the Czech winner of the international round will be invited to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where an awards ceremony will be held on 4 July. In the local contest, the films were judged by a jury consisting of Martha Issová, Ivan Zachariáš and Aleš Najbrt, who came up with a shortlist of five movies that were then presented to the public for a vote. The most successful films included Golden Delicious by Veronika Jelšíková, who won first place and EUR 3,000. Second place went to There is Some Time Left by Lukáš Masner, who earned EUR 1,000. The third-place winner also took away EUR 1,000, in this case Luboš Kučera for his film You Have the Power… For more information, see: https://www.nespresso.com/talents/cz/cs/home
