Towards the end of this year’s festival, on Saturday 8 July at 10:30pm at the Outdoor Cinema, we will be showing director Václav Vorlíček’s popular fairy-tale comedy The Girl on the Broomstick.
The film will be personally introduced by Václav Vorlíček, who will receive the KVIFF President’s Award at the festival’s closing ceremony.
“Mr. Vorlíček was excited by the idea, because the premiere of The Girl on the Broomstick took place 45 years ago here at the Outdoor Cinema in Karlovy Vary, so it is a symbolic return to the place where the film was first seen by the public,” says KVIFF’s artistic director Karel Och.
Admission to the Outdoor Cinema is free.
