How Trine found her Nico

June 30, 2018, 17:40

The actress Trine Dyrholm herself came to present the film Nico, 1988, directed by Susanna Nicchiarelli, where she impersonates the German singer and once Andy Warhol’s Muse during her last years. “Susanna told me: You neither look nor sing like Nico, but you are simply perfect for the part. We thus did not try to imitate her, but rather to find our own version of Nico through her deep voice,” the popular Danish actress reminisced.

In her words, the film is a tale “about Nico after Nico, or what is hidden behind the iconic curtain”. The film was shot in co-production of Italy and Belgium and is represented in Karlovy Vary also by its two Italian producers. “I could say much more about the picture, but it would perhaps be better if you see it first” the actress concluded and offered to meet the audience during the discussion following the screening. Trine Dyrholm will also answer your questions at the KVIFF Talk taking place in the Thermal Hotel Vodafone Lounge on 1 July at noon.
