“Vary at Your Cinema” brings the summer sun of Naples and California and the icy atmosphere of Iceland

June 05, 2019, 11:02

Starting on Monday 8 July 2019, the fourth “Vary at Your Cinema” bring a taste of the festival atmosphere and its diverse program to audiences throughout the Czech Republic in the form of three very different films from this year’s non-competition program: a new documentary portrait by Asif Kapadia (Senna, Amy), this time about the most famous footballer of all time Diego Maradona, actor Jonah Hill’s directorial debut, Mid90s, about American independent culture, and a thrilling Icelandic drama from Cannes, A White, White Day.

“This year’s selection of films is truly unique and represents some of the best works from the Karlovy Vary festival. All three directors are among the most admired filmmakers today, and we are honored to be able to promote their works for the rest of the year as well,” says Karel Och, artistic director of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

As in the past, this year’s “Vary at Your Cinema” will follow right after the conclusion of the festival, with screenings at more than 30 cinemas throughout the entire summer. Even afterwards, the films will be shown independently at various cinemas.
