Martin Dušek and Ondřej Provazník have presented their feature debut Old-Timers Out of Competition at the 2019 Karlovy Vary IFF. In an interview, the Czech directorial duo discuss the real-life inspiration for the film, which follows two old men out for revenge on the Communist prosecutor who destroyed their lives in the 1950s. They also speak about justified killing and Czech society’s response to the crimes of communism in the years following the return of democracy.
