KVIFF at Your Cinema has been successfully launched throughout the country

June 30, 2020, 11:24

What awaits us on Sunday and Monday?

The Australian film Babyteeth successfully kicked off Vary at Your Cinema, which continues until 11 July at 96 cinemas throughout the country.

In his video greeting to audiences at all the participating cinemas, president Jiří Bartoška spoke from the stage of the Hotel Thermal’s Grand Hall: “Every year on this stage, we hand out the Crystal Globe. This year, we have decided that it belongs to you – the cinema owners and audiences of the 96 cinemas participating in the Vary at Your Cinema festival.”

Over the next week, members of the festival team will travel to more than forty cinemas in order to personally introduce the festival’s films. On Sunday 5 July audiences can look forward to introductions in Cheb, Chomutov, Most, Sokolov, and Jirkov, and at Prague’s Kino Oko, while on Monday 6 July there will be personal introductions in Lanškroun, Zábřeh, and Šumperk, and at Prague’s Kino Aero.

At 3pm on Monday 6 July, KIVFF’s social networks will host a live streaming interview with Zeina Durra, director of the film Luxor.

The festival organizers have also prepared a limited collection of items with the festival’s logo just like with the regular Karlovy Vary festival. Twenty cinemas in 17 towns will be selling t-shirts with the TADY VARY logo, and 41 cinemas in 34 towns will also have mugs with the festival logo alongside the name of the town and, on the bottom of the mug, the name of the particular cinema.
